Here is a recent interview about my art and history, from the blog page of the 2023 Rancho Santa Fe Art Guild newsletter:
https://www.ranchosantafeartguild.org/blog
I enjoy portraying light and shadow on subjects of all kinds. I currently am focusing on contemporary landscapes, birds in artworks, seascapes, and floral still life paintings.
I have had many wonderful mentors and teachers throughout my life, including Lindsey Kustusch, Daniel J. Keys, Dennis Perrin, Dreama Tolle Perry, Sebastian Capella, Andrea Gaye, Jeremy Lipking, Jeffery Watts, Ken Auster and others.
I have been fortunate to have painted 'en plein air' in Italy, France, Thailand, Bali, India, and locations across the U.S. I have enjoyed painting and traveling with my husband of 54 years, Chris Mayne, an award winning Photographer. (Chris Mayne Avian Photography - on Facebook).
I retouched photographic portrait negatives (when there was film!) for 25 years and found an aptitude for fine detail in my oil paintings.
I fabricated and have designed stained glass windows for 40 years, working for architects and interior designers.
I was on the Commission for the Arts in Encinitas for two years and produced a co-operative show with the City of Encinitas and the San Diego Art Institute, call ''Endangered Spaces''.
I originated and curated a group of 12 artists, the ''Daily Painter's Project'', which painted content-specific 6x6'' paintings for a variety of businesses, which were exhibited at the selected businesses, once a month.
I completed the commissioned tile mural, ''Where Ganges and Himalayas Meet'', for Self Realization Fellowship Books and Gifts Store in Encinitas, in the 'Cuerda Seca' style of tile painting. The mural took 4 months to design, paint, fire and install. It is on the front facade of the building.
I teach workshops in my Leucadia studio to study specific processes and techniques I have learned over a lifetime of artistic experiences.
My work was shown at Chrysalis Gallery, Southampton, NY, for 8 years, The Hecht Gallery in La Jolla 2004-7, CA, Kilohana Gallery, Kilauea Gallery in Kauai for 10 years, and San Dieguito Art Guild 2014-5.
Current Gallery Representation:

Craftsman Revival in Solana Beach, CA. 858-259-5811
The Lotus Cafe, Hwy 101, Encinitas, CA, currently displays my paintings of India, and Lotus flower paintings, throughout the restaurant.
